Insights Shared: HFAI-AHS Joint Session - Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy from Asian Perspective
The Heart Failure Association of India (HFAI) and the Asian Heart Society (AHS) successfully convened a hybrid joint session on February 7, 2026, bringing together experts in person at the Hyatt Regency Ahmedabad and online across time zones. Focused on the theme "Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy- Asian Perspective," the session was co-moderated by Dr. Chopra VK and Dr. Abraham Oommen from India, together with Dr. Jianzeng Dong and Dr. Yuhui Zhang from China.
The session commenced with an introduction by Dr. Mrinal Kanti Das (IN), followed by a series of focused presentations: Dr. Harikrishnan S (IN) spoke on "Cancer Therapy and Heart Failure: A Blueprint for the Cardiologist"; Dr. Ying Liu (CN) shared "New Insights into Cardiomyopathy: Exploration and Practice"; Dr. Narasimhan (IN) discussed "Arrhythmia Induced Cardiomyopathy - Implications in Asia"; and Dr. Chao Jiang (CN) presented on "Influenza Vaccination in Patients with Cardiovascular Diseases."
A lively panel discussion wrapped up the agenda, enabling deeper exchange on region-specific clinical approaches and collaborative pathways forward.
The session highlighted timely perspectives and reinforced the value of cross-Asian collaboration in advancing heart failure care.
