Meeting Summary: Dialogue Between Chinese and Foreign Experts – New Advances in Research on β-Blockers

The eighth session of the 2026 Asian Cardiovascular Disease Series of Web Seminars occurred on August 26, 2026, from 19:00 to 20:30 Beijing Time (13:00-14:30 CEST). Organized around the theme "Dialogue Between Chinese and Foreign Experts – New Advances in Research on β-Blockers," this virtual gathering was moderated by Prof. Xiangqing Kong (CN), drawing together prominent experts from China and Europe for a productive scientific exchange.

The event commenced with opening statements from Prof. Xiangqing Kong (CN), followed by two featured lectures: Prof. Nikola Bulj (HR) gave a presentation on "Beta-Blockers in 2026: An Update?," and Prof. Xiaoguang Yao (CN) examined the "Evidence-Based Benefits of Beta-Blockers in the Standardized Treatment of Coronary Artery Disease." A spirited panel discussion, overseen by Prof. Jincun Guo (CN) and Prof. Huanji Zhang (CN), permitted a detailed review of real-world issues related to beta-blocker therapy in current CAD practice. The session finished with concluding observations from Prof. Xiangqing Kong (CN), emphasizing the principal takeaways from this cross-continental collaboration.
